Martin Automatic has introduced the MBNT butt splicer for narrow web label converting and flexible package printing. The patented rolling shear splice unit guarantees a clean cut, no overlap and a tight bond. For applications requiring tape on both sides of the angled splice, a rotary nip applies a second tape to the backside. The tension control system features Martin’s inertia compensation for consistent, accurate tension of the web as it enters the press. A soft tension control package is available for film webs. The two cantilevered, pneumatic spindles hold two full-diameter rolls.
